| parshooter 9/8/2020 10:03:16 AM | I just heard that TUP will not be running this season. This is concerning news. I know they sold the mobile home park land adjacent and to the south of track and backstretch. Haven't heard any plans to reopen and run races in the future. I understand the current closure was due to covid-19. I hope this doesn't mean they are intending to sell the land. It has become prime real estate near Bell Road, which prior was on the northern outskirts of Phoenix, but much has developed around this area since TUP started. Any thoughts?

| jeff 9/11/2020 1:57:41 PM | Earlier today I reached out to somebody who used to have a management position at Yavapai Downs. He retired back in 2011. He told me the following: "Jeff, there are a lot of rumors flying around. If Turf Paradise is planning on closing for good, it would be really hard for them to keep that info from their management team, their horsemen, AND from the AZ Racing Commission. I've recently been in contact with someone at the AZ Racing Commission who would know. If the rumors about Turf Paradise closing for good were true I think he would tell me. The last time he and I spoke he told me it was just that: a rumor." Now you know what I know. If anything changes, I'll come back to this thread and post an update. -jp .

| jeff 9/12/2020 2:35:04 PM | My source called me up today with new info, and we spoke on the phone for about an hour. As a result of that conversation, my opinion has changed. If you are asking whether or not I think Turf Paradise will reopen, my answer would be this: "I now have reason to believe Turf Paradise does not have plans to reopen." I wish it were otherwise. I'll leave it at that. -jp .

| jeff 1/3/2021 11:19:38 AM | I'm now being told that Turf Paradise and their horsemen have reached an agreement. Apparently, they drew entries, and live racing is expected to resume Mon 01-04-2021. -jp .
