Email received from Ron Tiller at HDW:

"We just got notified by Equibase that the Fairplex track code and name is changing. This is a partial quote from Equibase's notification:

"Beginning with the upcoming meet starting on September 6, 2013, Equibase will collect and distribute racing data for formerly known Fairplex Park under a new track code of BSR and track name of Barretts Race Meet at Fairplex, following a request from track management."

We will continue to internally use FPX but offer you two options

1. Keep FPX in the files and file names we distribute, letting you mange the presentation layer as you see fit

2. Put BSR in the files and file names we distribute, letting you mange the database layer as you see fit

If you choose option 2, we will need to discuss some further details. If you choose option 1, no further action is required.

Ron"

My reply:

Why not make it easier on the horseplayers within the JCapper user community?... Keep FPX in the files and file names you distribute.

FYI, HDW-JCapper handling of this change will be done in the following manner:

Track code to remain unchanged. All new data and results files produced for FPX race cards will continue to use track code FPX in the file naming schema. Running lines and workouts inside of JCapper files created by .JCP and .XRD file build routines will continue to be reported as FPX.
