I would like to know if there is a way to avoid jockeys that get over bet or jockeys that cannot ride up front.

Thanks
AJ

Easy enough to create a negative expectation UDM based on a name list of underperforming riders:

1. Craft a Data Window query using factor criteria describing some area that you want to research.

For example: E run style horses with inside posts on dirt surfaces that are ranked 1st or 2nd in CPace or EarlyConsenus.

Or, if you want the query to be more general in nature, just use dirt surfaces and an ALL button query.

2. Run the query through the Data Window with the results broken out BY RIDER.

In addition to visually displaying the data broken out by rider, when you run a Data Window query with the results broken out BY RIDER, BY TRAINER, BY SIRE, etc., the Data Window will also write the results of your query to the SampleSummary table in the c:\JCapper\Exe\JCapper2.mdb file - where you can get at it using Access or a 3rd party db app.

3. Take selected rider names and add them to a UDM Definition. In playlist file mode there are separate fields for this purpose located on the lower left hand area of the Modify UDM Screen. Be sure to check the "test" box for the name type you are using. Also be sure to separate individual rider and trainer names with dash characters.

If you are operating in sql mode, you'll find buttons on the face of the UDM Wizard's SQL Expression Tool designed to facilitate adding name lists for riders and trainers.

The JCapper Name Selection Tool
I wrote a JCapper app designed to work with SampleSummary table data. It's called the Name Selection Tool and enables you to:

1. Write and execute your own sql expressions against data sitting in the SampleSummary table.

2. Compile lists of rider or trainer names that fit the user defined parameters of an executed sql expression. For example, you could make the app query the SampleSummary table and give you the name of every rider in the table that has: a.) At least 8 wins. b.) A win rate of at least 15%. c.) A flat win bet roi of at least 0.90.

Further, the app will compile the requested rider name list in a UDM ready format (with the individual names separated by dash characters.)

3. With a couple of mouse clicks, the app also enables you to paste the compiled name list into a UDM Definition.

I've used the Name Selection Tool to create many a UDM based on rider and trainer names. (Sires and Dams too.) It's been tested to handle name lists as long as 1200 names.
