I created a UPR but it does not show up on my HTML report. I have the Display UPR in the Systems Settings checked but nothing seems to change. I also have all the factors in the UPR checked as Active.

I would like the UPR to rank the horses 1, 2, etc and also display an odds line generated by the UPR.

Any help will be greatly appreciated in how to accomplish the above.

Thanks.

The above screenshot shows:

1. The Display UPR/UserFactors box is checked. (Left hand side about 1/2 way down from the top.)

2. The Groupname (lower right) has been changed from DEFAULT (which generates JPR) to the Groupname I am using to generate my UPR.

Jeff--I have "Display UPR" checked and my UPR, "MYTEST" showing in the Systems Definition Module. I'm doing something else wrong. On my HTML report I get the same Prob and odds line for 5 of the 6 horses and then to the right of the report under JPR, I get all 1's showing for my UPR rankings.

I'm using 5 factors for my UPR and I checked to make sure I did it correctly entering the Matched Pairs and Impacts. When creating the UPR I did one factor at a time. I did not use UPR Tools at all and am wondering if I am suppose to. Also, for the weights of my factors I used a range of between 80 to 20.

I know its me but I just can't figure it out. The IV's I used just don't seem to be calculating correctly.
Appreciate your time and help.

Jeff--happy to report I'm making some progress. I created a UPR using UPR TOOLS rather than manually entering the Matched Pairs and Impacts. Now I get a UPR ranking under JPR and also get a legitimate Odds Line for each horse. Still need a little coaching.

Should I just use the UPR Tools and Jeff's Weights for my Factors until I get a better handle on things?
I don't think I can go too far wrong if I do.

Thanks for your help.

One thing to check:

If you are using the IV Table Interface instead of the IV Table Wizard/UPR Tools, make sure you have valid characters (D, T, D*, T*, *) keyed into the surface field for each record. The IV Table Wizard/UPR Tools auto populates the surface field while the IV Table Interface does not.

Thanks Jeff.

I have been using the Wizard but I didn't realize that with the IV Table Interface. Are the UPR TOOlS an alternative to manually entering the data for the factors? I couldn't find the Help Doc for using the Tools and Weights. I am using Ver 8.1 if that makes a difference. Thanks.

Here's a brief rundown on the history of the interface...

The IV Table Interface was created in 2006. It was designed to enable the user to manually create ImpactValues Table entries one record at a time. Nothing automated here... You get a datasheet presenting the fields required to create a single ImpactValues Table record.

The IV Table Wizard came next. It was still designed to enable users to create ImpactValues Table records one record at a time. As anyone who's done this can attest, the task of creating records can be a labor intensive process. The IVTable Wizard was an advancement over the previous interface because it contained some new tools designed to lighten the load (such as the Clone record function.)

UPR Tools was released in mid 2009. This part of the interface takes things to the next level. Automation is the goal. You the user are given a tool set enabling auto generation of a hundred or more records at once with just a handful of mouse clicks.

Thanks Jeff.

Hopefully I'm on my way using the UPR Tools to create my UPRs.
