Recently was in the private section of jcapper forum. And read post from the old jcapper message board. The post concerned weighted figure factor being weighted different for turf and 6.5 dirt races. The post said it was weighted late for these two categories. All other dirt races were weighted early.

My question is I know jpr is weighted differently for dirt and turf. Is dirt weighted early and turf weighted late? And our their any other factors weighted differently because of surface or distance?

If you look at the IV table, you can see exactly which factors go into JPR and how they're weighted, and which are active for each type of race.

Hey ryesteve where is this iv table you are talking about? Looked in iv table wizard but couldn't find any jpr iv entries.

DEAFULT is the GroupName attribute for the entries driving JPR.

Required Reading...

Using The ImpactValues Table Interface to create UPR
http://www.jcapper.com/helpDocs/ImpactValuesTable_Help.htm

Recommend as a best practice always backing up the c:\2004\JCapper.mdb file first before handling the DEFAULT GroupName entries in either the IVTable Interface or Wizard.

That said, Steve is absolutely correct. You can see the table entries driving JPR by looking at the DEAFULT GroupName.

Herman, you also asked about other factors being weighted either early or late. As you pointed out, the degree to which Weighted Fig is weighted towards either early or late depends on the surface and distance. Other factors that use Weighted Fig as one of the inputs... Alchemy, CFA, PRating, QRating, PowerConcensus, etc. all account (to some degree) for historical differences between early and late on specific surfaces and at specific distances.
