Couldn't locate an answer in the message board or SQL UDM video for this question:

How to get the Betting Instructions into the plays.csv or text report files when using SQL UDM's ?

Use the BettingInstructions field on the left side of the UDM Wizard's Modify Screen.

No apologies whatsoever for my freehand drawing skills using a mouse... You try it!

In the above screenshot I've circled the BettingInstructions field on the modify screen in lime green mouse pen.

A few rules to follow:

1. Keep it short

2. Avoid characters/words that are "reserved" as part of the SQL language...

Instead of words like "AND" "OR" use abbreviations like "N" "R" (without the quotes of course)

Avoid commas, the apostrophe or single quote character " ' ", and other SQL formatting characters such as the ampersand "&", the percentage sign "%", the pound sign "#", the at sign "@", exclamation point "!", the star or wildcard character "*", parenthesis characters "(", ")"... again without the quote characters.

Because these are all "reserved" as part of the SQL language, using them in any data field stored in a table can impact the program's ability to read the data field from the table where they are stored.

A good general "best practices" guideline would be to avoid the words "and", "or"... as well as all punctuation characters.

Stick to letters and numbers only and you should be fine.

Sorry, Should have provided more information: I am using the Betting Instructions in the UDM setup screen and its not working.

No information is being sent to the csv or text file from the betting instruction field. Below I have text in the betting instruction field but its not carried over to the text report or csv file.

I have put the word test in the field betting instructions field in the example below.

code:

KEE R5 6.0F D 10/11/2009 3:25 EASTERN C 117.05
Daily Double / Exacta / Trifecta ($.50 min) / Pick 3 (Races 5-6-7)Pick 6 (Races 5-10) / Superfecta ($.10 min)
#2 MINE ALL MINE/MENA MIGUEL/WARD WESLEY A./ SQL_Kee_JR 1.6 []

Tom,

BettingInstructions field content is definitely showing up on the Text Report and inside the Plays.csv file in SQL Mode at my end.

Zip up a copy of your c:\2004\JCapper.mdb file, fire it off to me attached to an email and I'll have a look.

If the zipped up file is too large to make it through as an email attachment let me know and I'll get you ftp access to a folder on the JCapper server.

EDIT: File name shown above in red is correct. My original post had the file name as c:\2004\JCapper2.mdb.

Yes the issue is resolved and thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

2 SQL UDMS were inhibiting the display of the Betting Instructions. Recreating them from scratch resolved the issue (had to rename them).

I don't think the names caused the issue but as an FYI the Original names were: Sql_Bon and DR_Prate_A
