email question:
Jeff,
Q. If I change some of the 35 F Factors will it effect the UDM'S configured from the original 35?
my reply:
Yes.
If you change your 35 SQL-F Factors you have some work to do:
1. Change the SQL Expressions of any SQL UDMs using F Factors where the slot number for that F Factor has changed.
Example, in your original factor lineup CPace was in slot 8... but after changing your lineup CPace is now in slot 10.
The sql expression in a UDM based on the original 35 has something it it like this:
AND RANKF08 <= 4
To make the UDM return the same horses, change that one line to:
AND RANKF10 <= 4
2. Look at - and edit as needed - the Column Headings on your Customized HTML Report.
3. You SHOULD (but don't have to right away) rebuild some databases from scratch so that you can do R&D using your new 35 SQL F Factor lineup.
4. Avoid doing R&D using database folders that have not been rebuilt since changing your SQL-F Factor lineup.
Until you do the above, you can mistakenly THINK a factor is in one slot... when it is actually sitting in another.
