Enhanced Live Play Module (the +/- buttons) |
Jim the Tolerable 8/22/2009 7:27:08 PM | If I am operating in the module in the manual mode, I can click on the + or - sign under my interest to see what odds should be at various cutoffs I may be interested in, correct? Question: As I change the odds on my interest, should I also attempt to change the odds accordingly of the other horses? I get the feeling I am either missing something obvious, or chasing a detail too small.
| jeff 8/22/2009 8:09:11 PM | The goal with the +/- buttons is to quickly get to a ballpark number for min acceptable odds at or above an odds ratio cutoff point.
For example, what are the min odds that make E~BettorsTotePbob >= 1.00?
I click the +/- buttons for each UDM horse until I see the cutoff at or above my target. Then I take note of the odds and just use that for min odds when submitting conditional wagers.
Understand it's an estimate only - but one that's pretty solid most of the time.
I did, however say most of the time. A bad ML can throw things off. So when you think the ML is off, by all means, change the odds of the other horses too.
But understand most of the time it's better to be able to work quickly, enter a lot of conditional wagers, and be done with it. Clicking the +/- buttons for a single UDM horse creates the ability to do that - and I actually prefer THAT these days to sitting all day watching live odds and pulling the trigger manually.
