Build Database |
cowboy748 7/28/2009 2:30:42 AM | It keeps saying 0 race card files processed. I have them unzipped and everything. Is it cause I don't have a source file or a target file

Jim the Tolerable 7/28/2009 9:10:59 AM | It sounds like the database bulider is pointed at a different folder than where you have your files. For example: I use AM, MID, and PM as my three folders for use throughout the day, but I (currently) download and keep all my files in 2009 > Q3. So, when I build a database, I just need to click on the folder icon in the upper left hand corner of the database builder and tell it where to look for my data and results files, then build. Hope this helps.

Jim the Tolerable 7/28/2009 9:14:24 AM | I just thought. Also make sure the database builder is looking for the kind of files you use. For example: If you use .pcs files and the database builder is looking for .drf files, you will get the "0 cards processed" message after it "builds."

jeff 7/28/2009 11:00:45 AM | Building a Database Video http://www.JCapper.com/podcasts/db2.wmv
Other videos available at JCapper.com on the JCapper 101 / Audio Video page.
Watch the video. Afterwards you should come away with an understanding of the basic requirements.
Data and results files must be:
1. Unzipped.
2. Sitting on the target folder where you want the database build to take place.
3. You must have at least one data and results file that match up by track and date.
4. You are actually pointing the Database Builder at the same target folder where your files are physically located. Use the folder icon and the nav tools behind it to do this.
5. You have selected the correct file type from the file type drop down in the Database Builder.
Meet the requirements and the result is a successful database build... resulting in a Data Window query-able (is that even a word?) playlist file.
If you still need help after watching the video then shoot me an email or call me.
