Paceline in Sys Settings |
PT 6/3/2009 8:36:15 PM | Which factors are affected by this setting, other than, of course, the ones beginning with "Paceline"

jeff 6/4/2009 11:11:50 AM | JPR, UserFactors, and UPR are driven by entries in the ImpactValues Table.
JPR does have entries in the table based on PaceLine. For that reason it IS possible to affect JPR by experimenting with the PaceLine settings on the User Sys Defs Screen.
Hint: I have seen users following just one or two circuits greatly improve their JPR by experimenting with their rules for PaceLine selection... make a rules change, rebuild a database from scratch, and check Data Window results for both PaceLine and JPR against prior results.
I have also seen users unknowingly do the opposite.
All of your own work is stored in the following file:
c:\2004\JCapper.mdb
I strongly recommend making regular backups of this file. That way you'll have a recovery path should you need one.
Definitions for UserFactors and UPR may or may not have entries in the ImpactValues Table based on PaceLine. Whether or not they do, of course, is entirely up to you the individual user.

PT 6/4/2009 12:36:28 PM | Thanks...so, if JPR is affected, would I have to re-verify the results of any existing UDM's using JPR?

PT 6/6/2009 2:18:45 PM | I haven't made any changes to that setting yet, but I still may. Back in my HSH days, you could test factors based on a number of canned paceline methods...best of last three, best two of last five, etc. What I found, and I had a pretty good database from all tracks, is that best ever and 2nd best ever consistantly outperformed anything more recent in terms of ROI.
