TSN vs. Pro Caps? |
notchback 3/12/2009 1:08:49 PM | Hi,
I use TSN files with the 59$ a month plan. I download the xrd results files at 25 cents a pop.
Is there any difference in using the ProCaps files for my data base?
I would like to change to the 59$ Pro Cap plan and save some $ each month in data costs.
If not, will I run into issues if I mix TSN and Pro Cap files in my database?
Thanks in advance,
Doug

1. TSN Past Performance Data Files Description: Comma-delimited Equibase/TSN PP's - single file format. File Extension: .EG Price per file: $0.50
2. ProCAPS Data Files Decription: Comma-delimited Data files for use with ProCAPS handicapping software. File Extension: .PCS Price per file: $5.00 TSN has also offered this the ProCAPS or .PCS file (different names for the same thing) via a monthly data subscription plan. You might want to call them for details.
As for effectiveness and expectations vs. the Bris DRF Single Format Data File... you might want to check out this thread (from a little over a week ago)... http://www.jcapper.com/messageboard/TopicReader.asp?topic=389&forum=JCapper%20101

notchback 3/12/2009 4:34:53 PM | Thanks Jeff,
I did see the post earlier about Bris vs. TSN. I wish I could afford the Bris files, but I have chosen quantity of data over quality of data based on my budget.
It's helpful to know that both ProCaps and EG files have the same # of fields.
I plan to start Q2 fresh with the PCS files unless I find any significant disadvantages of the PCS files vs. TSN.eg
That is, of course, unless you have any news on the bulk data deal you are working on???
