Jeff,

Will filter FOR+ work with TSN PCS files? I have tried to use it in a turf UDM with no success.

Thanks,

Tom C

Jeff,

What I mean is foreign-bred horses. The state or country of breeding is in parentheses in the line that starts with B: in the Age, Sire, & Dam column.

It appears that the FOR+ filter is only tagging horses that have actually made their last start in a foreign country.

Thanks again,
Tom C

That's correct. The intent was - for better or worse - to have a UDM flag foreign invaders.

Just so you guys know, the ability to flag horses by geographic location/where bred... ie KY, FL, CA, UK, FR, etc. is on the to do list.

Jeff,

Have you included this in an update I may have missed or is it still on your list of things to work on?

Thanks,

Tom C

Still on the to do list for more than 2 years... Other published program adds: SQL Mode Database Builds, HDW binary data file handling, HDW File Mgr, .JCP and .XRD file export routines, HDW File Download Tool, HDW PScore and HDW E~BettorsToteProb algorithms, PPs Generator, Enhanced Settings, etc... somehow that stuff kept getting in the way. :)

And over the past few months, newer stuff in the pipeline... The JCapper TripNotes interface, Vet Scratches, etc. are somehow getting in the way too.

That said, for those operating in playlist file mode, it wouldn't be all that much work for me to add a notation to the Angles String for geo location where bred - and from there create a "BRED_IN" preset filter... where the user could supply 2 or 3 characters to create a match between the jurisdiction where bred and the where bred indicator stored inside of the Angles String.

Just need to find the free time.

Q. Is where bred available in sql mode?

A. No.

Q. Is the ability to flag foreign horses (those who made their most recent start across the ocean) present in sql mode?

A. Yes.

To make a sql udm flag foreign horses (those who made their most recent start across the ocean) use the foreign field (from the table schema) like this:
AND FOREIGN = 1

To make a sql udm avoid foreign horses (those who made their most recent start across the ocean) use the foreign field (from the table schema) like this:
AND FOREIGN = 0
