I am contemplating how to use UDM's to predict "todays" performance.

One thing I look at is a horse coming off a " new top" speed figure. Maidens exempted...........

I am contemplating how to flag a horse that is coming off a "new top" by using a UDM........any suggestions would be appreciated............I have yet to figure it out....and my head is starting to hurt.........

I would love to hear how anybody is using UDM's when it comes "form cycles"

Thanks in Advance!

Btw, I have had Jcapper for about a year now. It has been a ball learning this program...... much more to learn......but having fun doing it.

Ralph, There's a factor in the Data Window factors drop down labeled New Pace Top. Selecting it allows you to break out the results of a Data Window query into rows based on true/false conditionals that show whether or not a horse earned a new speed or pace top (or both) (or neither) in its most recent start.

For example, here's what I have for CPace rank=1 horses over the past three calendar years broken out by New Pace Top:

Data Window Settings:

Q. "Handles" for New Pace Top in UDMs?

A. Controlled by the preset filter codes starting with the characters "NPT_" without the quotes.
