Anybody able to direct me to an old post where Jeff
explained how to import data to create UserFactor2
or where in the help docs I can find it? (trying to
get logical fig imported as-is)

I did one a long time ago and can't remember how.

Thanks!!

In the IVTable Wizard use "USERFACTOR2" (without the quote characters) as your GroupName and manually key your entries in ala the Help Doc.

One final question -

after changing impact values in the wizard for
UserFactor2 (already got it created and data to
populate correctly), do I need to rebuild the
database or do anything special to get additional
changes to take?

If I hit save on the wizard and then run a UDM using UserFactor2, it should come out correct?

After hitting the Save button on the IVTable Wizard the entries in front of you are written to the IV Table.

That means that the next time you use the program to run a Calc Races or a Build Database the program will read the info stored in the IV Table and use it to drive the algorithms that calculate UPR and UserFactors.

So after hitting the Save button in the IVTable Wizard the next time you run a Calc Races you will see your new UPR and UserFactors reflected on your HTML Report and in the Live Play Module.

Hitting the Save Button on the IVTable Wizard does not in any way change the field values stored in your existing PlayList and QuickIndex files. Keep in mind that when you run Data Window queries the Data Window is reading field values from your existing PlayList and QuickIndex files and then reporting that info back to you.

Before you can see the effect newly saved IVTable Wizard entries have on UPR and UserFactors in the Data Window you have to Rebuild each PlayList file from scratch.

I hope I explained that in a way that makes sense.

Thanks, Jeff. I created my new UserFactor2 and got
it to a win % and roi that I hope is acceptable.

I guess the final step is to replace the default
UPR with my UserFactor2 so that it is used for
the BettorsToteProb (I have the UPR field checked).

How do I go about replacing the default UPR with my
UserFactor2? (JPR is not to be replaced)

Is it really as easy as choosing the UserFactor2
group name under Live Play Module in the System
Settings System - Definitions screen (I have the
UPR field checked)?

Recommend watching the following video:

VIDEO - The JCapper2008 System Defintions Screen
http://www.jcapper.com/podcasts/SystemDefinitionsScreen.wmv

Scroll to about the 16:00 minute mark. It's pretty well explained. After you've created the table entries, changing to a different UPR really is as easy as selecting a different GroupName from the UPR GroupName drop down. When you do that JPR still appears on your HTML Report. The key difference is that your UPR is what'll now drive the odds line on the HTML Report. Your UPR is also what'll drive BettorsToteProb and ZScoreProb (and Expected Value for both) in the Live Play Module.
