Jeff, What is Gap and how do I use it in the UDM Wizard?

Gap is easy. I'll use a hypothetical match race to illustrate:

Horse A CPace = 175

Horse B CPace = 150

Gap is the difference between them:

175 - 150 = 25

Gap = 25

Horse A has the higher CPace. It has a gap advantange of +25 over the next best horse in the race.

Horse B has the lower CPace. It has a gap disadvantage of -25 from the top horse in the race.

In the UDM Wizard, when dealing with the top ranked horse for a given factor, Gap is always a positive number. To require an advantage of 25 points or more over the next best horse in the race, in the UDM Wizard, enter 25 as the min gap.

In the UDM Wizard, when dealing with horses that are NOT the top ranked horse for a given factor, Gap is always a negative number. To require that a horse be within 25 points of the top horse in the race for a given factor, in the UDM Wizard, enter -25 as the min gap.

That's Gap in a nutshell,

I use it for horses that are Cpace 1 with an advantage/Gap of over 10pts compared to the Cpace 2 horse in the race.

It isn't bad on winners, but for horses that hit the board........66-79 percent ITM depending on the track.

At APX last year, 2007, it had a huge ROI. But not this year. This is one of the things that pointed out to me that the track had changed this year.
