colored highlighting? |
pdavid6 7/6/2008 12:08:15 PM | I've noticed in the help doc's that some of the samples that Jeff gives for data window outputs have portions of the data colored(red, blue)to indicate cutoffs. Is this part of the program that I can access or is this just done to show examples that Jeff is trying to point out. The reason why I ask is I was doing some research in the help docs under Finding an Edge, and I was wondering what validated the separation in some cases as I couldn't see a drastic change in impact value, roi, or win pct. in some of the examples shown.

When I wrote Finding An Edge, I highlighted certain areas of the Data Window output to provide emphasis. So no, the coloring of Data Window output isn't part of the program. Those areas that I decided to highlight may not be drastic. But they do indicate hidden positives which are necessary for profitable play. For instance, in the first set of charts where I compared CFA and Weighted Figure to Bris Speed Figure - I highlighted the top ranked horses for CFA and Weighted Figure in blue because they produced a noticeably higher flat win bet roi than their Bris counterparts... Bris being what everybody else out there sees... and the JCapper figures pointing towards hidden positives that you guys can use in UDMs and/or UPR.
