From Ron Tiller at HDW:

"AP charts files for July 20th were reposed with a correction. Race 9 Exacta unit wager was corrected from $200 to $2.

Ron"

Removal of Bad File and Replacement with Good File:

1. Navigate to the active data folder on your machine where you are storing the APX0720.JCP and APX0720.XRD files.

2. Delete the following files:

• AP0720F.ZIP - This is the zip file that contains the HDW Text Chart Results File for the 07-20-2013 Arlington Park Card.

• AP0720F.TXT - This is the HDW Text Chart Results File for the 07-20-2013 Arlington Park Card.

• APX0720.XRD - This is the JCapper .XRD File that was created when you ran an .XRD File Build Routine after downloading the above mentioned AP0720F.ZIP file from the HDW site.

3. Use the File Download Tool in the HDW File Mgr Module to re-download chart results for APX0720.

4. Run an .XRD File Build Routine that includes charts for APX0720.

Note: At this point you have deleted the original file containing bad info and created a replacement file containing corrected info.

From here it's a matter of getting the good replacement APX0720.XRD file worked into a JCapper database (pl_profile.txt file and the StarterHistory Table in the JCapper2.mdb file.)

Build Database Instructions - PlayList File Mode:

If you are operating the program in PlayList File Mode:

Run a MODE 1 databse build on the folder where you are storing the APX card for 07-20-2013.

That's it!

Build Database Instructions - SQL Mode:

If you are operating the program in SQL Mode:

You will need to delete all records in the StarterHistory Table for the time period covered by the folder where you are storing the APX card for 07-20-2013.

Launch the Data Window in SQL Mode.

The following sql command can be keyed into the Data Window's sql expression tool and can be used to delete records for the specified dates:

DELETE * FROM STARTERHISTORY WHERE [DATE] >= #07-01-2013# AND [DATE] <= #09-30-2013#

Important points:

1. The date field needs to be wrapped in square brackets like this: [DATE]

2. The text of dates referred to in the sql expression should be wrapped in pound signs like this: #07-01-2013#

3. The date text that I am using above assumes a quarterly folder structure and that my APX0720 data and results files are stored on my Q3 2013 folder (spanning the following time period: July 01, 2013 through Sept 30, 2013.)

--Note: If your folder structure spans a different time period adjust your date text accordingly.

4. You will be prompted by the Data Window interface for confirmation whenever you attempt to execute a delete command. After confirming YES that you actually do want to delete records, the interface will execute your sql expression - deleting all records specified by your sql expression.

Executing the above sql expression will remove all records specified by your date text from the StarterHistory table.

The final step involves repopulating the StarterHistory table with (corrected) records.

To do this:

Run a MODE 4 database build on the folder you are using to store your data and results files for the APX 07-20-2013 card.

That's It!

FYI, email received earlier today from HDW:

"Subject: Fri races 2 bad final times
Message Body: Jim identified 2 races on Friday with probable bad final times:

CBY Aug 2nd race 5
EVD Aug 2nd race 5

We have notified Equibase but being the weekend, we won't hear back from anybody till Monday at best. The charts and results that are currently on the web site reflect the final times we believe are bad.

I will notify you of the dispositions of these races and and any corrected charts files.

Ron"

From Ron Tiller at HDW:

"Charts and results files have been remade for the following race cards:

Evd Aug 2nd
Cby Aug 2nd

Evd race 5 had a timer malfunction. Equibase deleted all the internal fractions and used the hand timed time for the final time.

Cby race 5 was previously showing the 1 mile fractional time as the final time instead of the actual 1 mile 70 time, which caused the race to be erroneously posted as a new track record. Equibase has fixed this.

Ron"
