This screenshot shows the DFM Card Loader interface after using the File Filter Tool to filter the left hand pane to display files for race date 08-22-2012 only -- and from there, dragging and dropping all files for that race date onto the far right hand pane (the Post Time pane.)
Note that file names in the Post Time pane are displayed by post time for R1.
Also note that a true post time sort is only possible when your .JCP files are built when 0 Military Time is the persisted PPs Post Time Display setting in the Enhanced Settings Module. If your PPs Post Time Display setting is 1 AM - PM you will get a text character sort (which is different than a numeric Military Post Time sort.)
This screenshot shows the DFM Card Loader interface after dragging and dropping file names from the Post Time pane onto the individual panes for Data Folders 1, 2, and 3.
Note that I broke the race day up into three segments - where the card files of each segment have similarly grouped post times for R1.
The following card files (in post time order) were dragged and dropped from the Post Time pane onto the pane for Data Folder Folder1:
SUF SAR DEL RDX TDX
However - and as you pointed out - the interface itself auto sorts the file names alphabetically once they are placed onto the panes for Data Folders 1, 2, and 3.
The purpose of the Post Time pane is:
1. To enable you to SEE when post time for R1 is at each track.
2. To provide an easy way to break up your race day into (approximately) equal file groups - with each group of card files having similar post times for R1.
However, that's not the same thing as what you are talking about: actually sorting the loaded files by post time for R1 when they are loaded into the program.
Now that you mention it - THAT'S not a bad idea. (Just wish I had thought of it when I did the design work for the interface.)
That said, if you are operating JCapper in sql mode you DO have the ability to customize your SQL HTML Report layout... and of course one of your options would be to sort the races on your SQL HTML Report by post time.
Sorting Races on the SQL HTML Report by Post Time Here's a link to an older thread where you will find clear instructions for sorting the races on your sql html report by post time: http://www.jcapper.com/messageboard/TopicReader.asp?topic=909&forum=JCapper%20101
