jeff 6/4/2012 1:07:27 AM | There are probably quite a few 3rd party apps that could be used.
What I am about to suggest may not be the best way - but it is a way that will work.
JCapper renders past performances and html reports as html. Because these reports are html, it is pretty easy to get them into any app that uses a RichTextBox control (such as Word or WordPad) as a base for its text editor.
Here are the steps:
1. Click anywhere inside of the past performances for a given race.
2. With your mouse cursor already inside of a past performance report, hold down the Control key on your keyboard and click the A key (CTRL A.) This will highlight the entire past performance report.
3. With the entire past performance report highlighted, hold down the Control key on your keyboard and hit the C key (CTRL C.) This will copy everything that's highlighted to your Windows Clipboard.
4. Launch a 3rd party app that uses a RichTextBox control such as Word or Wordpad. Click anywhere inside of the RichTextBox itself, hold down the Control key on your keyboard and hit the V key (CTRL V.) This will paste the contents of the Clipboard into the RichTextBox.
From here you can do anything you want - change font, add color, underline effects... even type in your own notes.
Because you are now working in a text editor, you can Save your work - and send it to a printer.
I have a shareware app named Do7PDF on one of my machines. The app enables me to print a word doc as a .PDF instead of sending it to a printer.
Here's a link to a pdf that I created for APX R9 from Sunday June 03, 2012: http://www.jcapper.com/messageboard/reports/apx06032012r9.pdf
I didn't spend a whole lot of time marking it up... but to show that the above procedure can be done - I did key a few of my own notes into the table to the right of the UDM list for the #9 horse. (Check it out.)
