I bought July, 2011 HDW data files from HDW to run on JCapper. I was emailed a link to download from, and downloaded the zip files to new folder "July2011" on my C drive.

How do I get them into JCapper?

The only reason to ever "load" a file into JCapper would be to generate past performances or run a Calc Races.

Since they are HDW data and results files from a prior month, I'm guessing the most logical thing to do with them would be to:

Use them as part of a build database routine.

Here are the steps:

1. Download the zip file using the download link obtained from HDW. Save the downloaded file onto a folder of your choice (in this case July 2011.)

2. Persist the Data Vendor setting on the User System Definitions Screen to HDW (if you haven't already done so.)

3. Unzip the zip file, extracting the contents (zip files for individual race dates) onto your July 2011 folder.

4. Use the DFM to persist the current active data folder to whatever name you gave your target folder in step 1 above.

5. Use the File Build Filter Tool in the HDW File Manager to run a file build routine on your target folder to create .JCP files for the race cards coinciding with the time period of back data you purchased (in this case the month of July 2011.)

6. Use the File Build Filter Tool in the HDW File Manager to run a file build routine on your target folder to create .XRD results files for the race cards coinciding with the time period of back data you purchased (in this case the month of July 2011.)

7. Run a Build Database routine on the (July 2011) target folder. If you are running in SQL Mode use build mode 4. If you are running in Playlistfile mode use build mode 1.

That's it!
