My reply:

Spot checking the dates you are missing... 9/10, 9/15, 9/20, 9/22, 9/23 accounts for 78 of the 79 files you are missing. The one outlier is CNL0918.xrd (which I am missing as well.)

Here's the event chain that I "think" led to missing files for the above dates:

Sometimes Equibase has something screwy when they first cut a chart... maybe the chart caller keys in 33.4 as the opening quarter fraction for a single race (instead of 23.4.) Data vendors such as Brisnet, DRF, Trackmaster, etc. won't catch that and will publish their charts and results files.

HDW runs a bunch of validation tests on all data received from Equibase. They WILL catch it - and as a result will generally hold off on publishing their chart files for races run that day. They go back to Equibase and point out the mistake.

Equibase will watch video of the race in question - with people hand timing that race - and reach a consensus that the opening quarter fraction was in fact 23.4. They then re-cut the official chart - and include the updated chart in electronic format as part of the next data dump propagated out to the data vendors.

At that point HDW will cut chart files for that day.

I'm about 99.9% certain that's what happened for the races of 9/10, 9/15, 9/20, 9/22, and 9/23. (With permission from HDW I will email you download links to those chart files. I'll also ask them about the one outlier... CNL0918.)

Here's how I handle this on an ongoing basis:

At least twice per month, I queue up all data and results files and then use the synch to disc button.

That gets me a download of everything HDW has to that point.

I then rebuild .XRD files using the 1st of the current month as my start date. That catches me up XRD file-wise whenever a chart caller screws up and sets off the event chain that keeps HDW from publishing chart files for a given race day.

The next time I build that folder, the new .XRD files are picked up as part of the append - and my database is brought current.
