Instructions

1. Put the Data Window in PlayList File Mode

--While in Sql mode, click MENU, select Sql Mode, and answer YES at the prompt confirming that you want to switch modes.

--Or alternately, while in Sql mode, click the Reset button, and answer YES at the prompt confirming that you want to switch modes.

2. With the Data Window in PlayList File mode, point the Data Window at the first target folder.

--Hint: click the folder icon (upper left hand corner of the Data Window screen) and use the folder nav tools to double click your target folder.

3. Clear the StarterHistory Table and toggle your first export "ON."

--With the Data Window in PlayList File mode and pointed at the first target folder, click MENU, select EXPORTS, and then select STARTER HISTORY TABLE - NEXT QUERY - CLEAR FIRST.

--Anwser Yes at the prompts to Clear the StarterHistory Table and toggle your first export "ON."

--Hint: Toggling an export "ON" means that the next query you run will cause data for all starters returned by that query to be written to the export destination table. (In this case, the export destination is the StarterHistory table.)

--Further hints: All exports work this same way.

--a. The clear first option clears the destination table before the export is run (meaning that after running the next query, which in turn drives the export, the destination table contains data from the export you just ran and nothing else.)

--b. The append option leaves destination table data intact when the export is run (meaning that the append option enables the Data Window to write new data [or append] to the destination table.)

4. Run an ALL button query.

--Hint: This causes the Data Window to write data for all starters returned by the query to the destination table.

5. Run a Compact and Repair Database File.

--Click MENU and select Compact and Repair JCapper2.mdb File. Answer Yes at the confirmation prompts that you want to continue. Then use the dialog box that pops open to select your (connected to) JCapper2.mdb file.

--Hint: Any time you write a large amount of data to your tables it is a good idea to Run a Compact and Repair Database File.

6. Use the Folder Icon to point the Data Window at your next target folder.

7. Toggle your next export "ON."

--With the Data Window in PlayList File mode and pointed at the next target folder, click MENU, select EXPORTS, and then select STARTER HISTORY TABLE - NEXT QUERY - APPEND.

8. Run an ALL button query.

--Hint: This causes the Data Window to write data for all starters returned by the query to the destination table.

--Repeat steps 6, 7, 8, and 9 as needed until your StarterHistory table is populated with data from all of your target folders.

10. Make a backup copy of your c:\JCapper\Exe\JCapper2.mdb file.

That's it!
