I'm guessing fractions and/or times entered by track personnel that didn't make it through HDW's 'sanity checking'...

I'll confirm with HDW and post an update once I know more.

1. One of the things HDW does is run chart data received from Equibase through a number of sanity check routines.

2. When a chart contains missing and/or impossible times - or anything out of the ordinary - rather than publish a chart that contains obviously bad data - HDW will notify Equibase - and Equibase in turn will take it up with the track that generated the bad info.

3. From there the chart data for the race(s) in question is (eventually) corrected by personnel at the track where the race(s) were run.

4. Once that happens, the corrected chart data is disseminated by Equibase out to data resellers such as Brisnet, DRF, HDW, TrackMaster, etc. - who are then able to cut the chart and/or cut a corrected chart.

An update...

It turns out the cause isn't bad or missing times/fractions. What actually happened in this case is that track personnel logged into the Equibase system and mistakenly listed one or more races as "race cancelled."

That said, there's a procedure that has to be followed/a list of items that have to be verified/checked off before a chart can be cut.

Currently - as I type this - the approval process for the races in question is somewhere between steps 2 and 3 above.

Looks like the two chart files in question have now been cut.
