(1) How do I get results and payoffs in the JCapper Report Viewer - HTML One? I used 2 days ago: loaded HDW race and charts, and then did calc races for that date. (all UDMs show up but no results)

(2) How do I print just 1 track (say AQU) from the JCapper Report Viewer - HTML One?

(3) Is there anyway to show factors in the "UDM Plays by Track, Race" in SQL UDM Reports? For example, RankF01, Rank F11, RankAlchemy, and JPR (for each UDM selection)?

(1)to get results in the html report you must load the .DAT files
after you do the build database...load the same way you
load jcp files...unfortunately we have not advanced to the
stage where we can run this report till the following day.
hope this helps you.. excuse my feeble attempt at humor..
LOL

(2)I never print out the results of my html report..too costly
if you do many tracks every day like I do...I think there may be a setting in but I have never pursued it...if I were to do it I would
run it alone and print it..

(3)no I don't believe so..wait for Jeff's answer on this one..

Thank you Stuball

Still cannot get results:

These are the steps I took:

File Download Tool - Synch to Disc
File Build Filter Tool - Chart results
Build Database - Mode 5
Card Loader:
(a) Load 3/10/2013 HDW JCapper Data files
(b) Load 3/10/2013 JCapper DAT files
[get various error messages: "Unable to load - already loaded" then "No DAT files found"]
Calculate races (UDM show up but no results)

Any idea where I am going wrong? or is there a video or help file on this?

Thank you for your help!

Did you clear the card loader first?

My reply:

All of the Card Loaders in JCapper are programmed to allow you to load one and only one race card file into the program on each folder for each track.

Put another way: You can load the same track only once. Enforcing this rule prevents problems/date conflicts that can arise if the program were required to resolve scratches and changes for the same track code more than once.

Based on what you wrote I'm guessing you loaded a .JCP file for each track and then attempted to load .DAT files for the same tracks... and received a "you are not allowed to do this" message from the Card Loader.

Try this...

Launch the DFM Card Loader. Then, from inside the DFM Card Loader:

1. Click the CLEAR ALL - Folders 123 button and clear all loaded race card files from the program.

2. Select "JCapper .DAT File (*.dat)" from the file type drop down.

3. Click the File Filter Tool button and Launch the File Filter Tool. Then, in the File Filter Tool, select the desired race date, and make sure that "*.DAT" is the selected file type.

4. With the proper settings made in the File Filter Tool, click the APPLY button in the File Filter Tool. This will cause the interface to display all .DAT files for the desired race date in the file list box on the left hand side of the interface.

5. From here, drag and drop the desired .DAT files onto the appropriate folder list boxes for folders 1, 2, and 3.

6. With all of the desired .DAT files dragged and dropped onto the desired data folders, click the "SELECT ALL AND LOAD - Folder 123" button to load .DAT files into the program.

7. X-out of the DFM Card Loader and X-out of the DFM.

8. Run a Calc Races for each of your data folders...

Hint: No need to get scratches... That was already handled by the Database Builder when the .DAT files were created.

If you followed the above instructions you should see odds, finish positions, and mutuel payoffs on your HTML Report.

Important Reminder: Next time that you go to load card files into the program be sure to reset the file type back to "HDW .JCP File (*.jcp)" in the DFM Card Loader's file type drop down.

My reply:

In general... no. The primary purpose of the SQL UDM Reports Module is to display horses flagged by UDMs in today's races (period.)

That said, if you wanted to create a series of UDMs designjed to present you with a collective hierarchy... then yes, you could do that and make all of it display in SQL UDM Reports Module.

In general, the way that I do it is to use the SQL UDM Reports Module to display horses flagged by business UDMs (period.)

In those cases where I want to dig deeper into the data - that's when I'll go to the HTML Report - where layering UDMs and JCapper numbers/rank/gap, etc. are displayed.

Admittedly, there are only 48 slots on the sql html report layout... So not all of the factors I might be interested in will display.

If I find myself consistently interested in a factor that's not in my sql factor setup and/or not on my sql html report layout - then I have to consider whether or not I want to add that factor to my sql factor setup and/or sql html report layout.

That said, if the factor in question is part of my sql factor setup - but not part of my sql report layout - one option is to create a UDM for the sole purpose of alerting me to it (which gets into the UDM hierarchy area previously suggested.)

One more comment...

I can always run a UDM that's flagging a horse today through the Data Window with the data broken out by rank, numeric value, and/or gap for any factor I might be interested in.

Doing that may not tell me the specific rank for a specific factor vs. today's field... But it does enable me to see how specific factor combinations have been performing recently - and at the specific track-surf-dist as today's race - and how well (or how poor) the recent performance of today's rider and/or trainer might be under identical or similar circumstances.

The normal case is that between the Data Window and the sql html report - I can usually get a solid understanding about a horse's chances today.

Thank you everyone for all the help.

I cannot believe I could not figure that out for myself ... duh ...

Anyway, again, I really appreciate all the help - I do have my results now.
