From the release notes of the latest program update:

--quote:

HTML Report Race Summary Saddle Cloth Numbers
In this JCapper Program Update, I have rewritten the algorithm that generates the saddle cloth numbers displayed as part of the race summary. The key difference is that the new algorithm recognizes ties (whereas the old algorithm did not.) Here is a simple example:

Horse/Number/Rank
#1 85 (4)
#2 78 (5)
#3 91 (1)
#4 91 (1)
#5 87 (2)

The old algorithm would display the saddle cloth numbers as follows: 3-4-5-1

The new algorithm uses the comma character to indicate a tie and would display the saddle cloth numbers as follows: 3,4-5-1

Hint: The presence of a comma character means that a tie in rank exists.

--end quote.

Hint: Changes related to a new program update are always in the release notes. (There's always a link to the release notes for each program update immediately beneath the download link for each program update.) The release notes are also posted on the message board threads about the new program updates.

Chris, you asked:

"EARLY: 7-4-8-1 LATE: 1,2--11-3 FIGS: 7-11-4-8 CLASS: 7-11-8-4 FORM: 5-4,8--7 PWR: 7-11-4-8

What does the hyphens and apostrophe's mean."

In the above example, the FORM Consensus horses are listed as:

FORM: 5-4,8--7

The single dash characters indicate a break in rank... for example the first dash character indicates a break in rank between the 5 horse (ranked 1st) and the 4 and the 8 horse (tied for 2nd.)

The comma character between the 4 and the 8 horse indicates they are tied for that position (2nd.)

The double dash characters indicate that no horse is ranked for that position... in this case the 4 and the 8 are tied for 2nd... no horse has a rank of 3... and the 7 is ranked 4th.

Hope I explained most of that in a way that makes sense.
