a few loose ends |
Acorn54 8/3/2025 2:09:03 PM | when i fire up the text report and elect the sql text format to be in track report mode with my udm's listed by track, the track name doesn't show up on the text report in the upper left portion of the report or anywhere else. i launched the jcapper install in administrative mode.
i would like to run a sql udm report from the menu dropdown on the sql expression wizard, i assume this is still in development?

jeff 8/4/2025 12:07:57 PM | re: Text Report
It's been years since I used or even looked at the Text Report in the HTML Report Viewer.
That said, it's definitely working at my end.
Here's a screenshot of the Folder 2 Text Report showing my UDMs from yesterday afternoon Sun 08-03-2025:

If your Text Report is showing UDM Names without the Track Codes, my guess would be it's probably a settings issue.
Attach your c:\2004\JCapper.mdb file to an email and send it me.
jeff @ jcapper . com
(remove the blank spaces first)
If you do that I'll take a look at the settings inside and let you know what I find.

jeff 8/5/2025 10:32:44 AM | Screenshot showing my SQL UDM Plays Report generated yesterday afternoon:

Above screenshot showing the UDMs by Track, Race Report after clicking the UDMs by Track, Race.
Other reports look similar. (Personally, I prefer the Look 100 Report from the Menu.)
Basically this is what SQL UDM Reports look like after running a Calc Races in SQL Mode with the correct settings and properly formatted SQL UDMs.
The closest I can come at my end to what you posted is this screenshot:

Here, I'm using the JCapper.mdb file (unaltered) that ships with the 1/15/2025 program download.
Fyi, that file doesn't have any SQL UDMs in it.
If you want me to help you:
I need copies of these two files:
1. Your c:\2004\JCapper.mdb - this file contains your UDMs, Settings, and Enhanced Settings.
2. Your c:\JCapper\Exe\JCapper2.mdb file.
The c:\2004\JCapper.mdb is small enough that you can attach it to an email and send it to me.
The c:\JCapper\Exe\JCapper2.mdb file is small enough to send as an email attachment UNLESS you've started running DBBuilds.
Once you start running DBBuilds the J2 file gets way too big to send as an email attachment.
Couple of ways you can get it to me:
1. Use the Free area of the https://WeTransfer.com site and send both files to my email address.
2. Download and Install a program called AnyDesk. From there call or email and we can set up a screen sharing session where I can just copy your c:\JCapper\Exe\JCapper2.mdb and paste it to a folder on one of my machines.
Once I have both files I should be able to look at your Settings, Enhanced Settings, UDMs, and the contents of your LivePlay Table - determine exact root cause - and solve this for you.
But I need both .mdb files in order to do this.

jeff 8/5/2025 7:50:48 PM | Two .mdb files received in good order.
1. Installed same on one of my machines, loaded today's race cards, imported scratches and changes from the xml, ran a SQL Mode Calc Races, brought up the UDM Plays Report Module, and generated a UDM Plays Report.
2. Noted that Track Info was missing on the left hand side for each UDM.
3. Brought up the Enhanced Settings Module and spotted the problem (which was reported back when the 01-15-2025 Program Update was released.)
Screenshot of the Enhanced Settings Module showing what you need to do:

Change your TrackWeather DataType Setting to 1 Simple (or higher) and hit the Save button.
Run a Calc Races, bring up the SQL UDM Plays Module, and generate a report. It should look like this:

Acorn54 8/6/2025 1:37:57 AM | hi jeff i clicked on whats this. at the prompt it said. that feature, requires a 2025 jcapper user license . it is greyed out on my enhanced settings. does this mean i have to wait until the full featured jcapper 2025 program comes out. if so no problem i can work around the issue.
|
jeff 8/6/2025 5:59:56 PM | The reason the Enhanced Setting is greyed out is because you were logged into the 1/15/2025 JCapper Platinum 2025 Main Module using your build 198 user logon.
Log into the 1/15/2025 JCapper Platinum 2025 Main Module using the Temp Eval logon I sent you.
Do that and you should find the Enhanced Setting isn't grayed out.
