Email received from HDW a few minutes ago:
"Jeff,
Found the cause—looks like the initial SIMULCAST file sent from Equibase was missing the races. They sent a corrected file later on Friday, but we missed the notice.
We have reprocessed the corrected SIMULCAST file and all pre-race files should be updated shortly.
We will do a better job monitoring the notices from Equibase for these scenarios."
My comments are as follows:
Even though races 10 through 13 were actually run at Canterbury, Equibase sent them after the fact in a separate Simulcast File.
Normally races sent in a separate Simulcast File are run at a track other than the host track.
This is something Ron knew to look for.
Ryan didn't know to look for this because he hadn't encountered a situation like this before. (Now he knows.)
Fyi, I knew because Ron had called me a couple of times over the years to tell me there's an updated J.ZIP file with additional races in it.
Because it happens so infrequently, I didn't think to include that situation in my write up of everything Ron did that was proofread by Jim and given to Ryan back in January.
I'll be on the lookout and will come back to this thread and post an update if and when I see a new CBY0920J.ZIP file that contains Binary Race Files for races 10 through 13.
